Frequently Asked Questions

General and booking FAQs

Can I be notified when my vehicle arrives?

Yes, the driver will send you a text message if you have provided a mobile number, or will have a name board, or knock on the door. (Please specify when booking)

How far in advance do I need to book?

We can take bookings on the same day prior to travel, but we suggest you book as far in advance as possible.

Are you a licensed Private Hire Operator?

Yes, we are fully licensed by the Central Bedfordshire Council. Copies of our licenses and Private Hire insurance can provided be provided on request.

Can you provide a Tour guide?

Yes we can provide a Blue Badge Tour Guide for any specific sightseeing tours for an additional fee. Please specify this requirement when booking.

How do I contact my driver?

You will be provided with the name and mobile contact number on confirmation of your booking. If for some reason you cannot contact them direct, please call the office on 01525 384025.

Vehicle FAQs

Will the vehicle be clean?

Yes all our vehicles are washed and valeted inside for each client every day.

Do you provide baby seats or booster seats?

We can provide booster seats for children. If you have baby seats for younger passengers, you can bring them with you to use whilst travelling. By law you will need to fit them yourselves. If you have booked a return journey, we can look after any baby seats until your return.

Can I drink/eat in the vehicles?

Yes we provide bottled water and fruit/snacks for our passengers. We do not permit hot food in the vehicles. We can provide glassware and coolers if you are bringing your own drinks for the journey.

Can I smoke?

No, by law all our vehicles are not permitted for smoking.

Is WiFi provided?

Yes we have 4G WiFi in all our ChauffeurJet vehicles. The driver will give you the password to login when you are in the vehicle.

Can I charge my phone/iPad in the vehicle?

Yes we have usb chargers for most devices, and 240volt power if you prefer to plug in your own chargers.

How much luggage can the vehicle take?

All vehicles can take at least one suitcase and one hand luggage for each passenger. However, each vehicle has a different boot capacity. Please see the vehicle pages for more details.

Chauffeur Only FAQs

Will the driver have their own insurance?

No, the owner of the vehicle they are driving will need to cover the driver for the duration of the journey on their insurance. We can provide individual details for your insurance company.

What will the driver do whilst waiting in between jobs?

The driver can run any errands as requested by the client, or have the vehicle washed or valeted as agreed with the client.

Payment/pricing and invoicing FAQs

Can I set up an account/pay by invoice?

Yes we can set up a business account for you which will be invoiced monthly. Please contact the office for details.

When do I pay for my booking?

If you have an account you will be invoice monthly. If you do not have an account payment will be requested 7 days before travel. We can take debit or credit cards payments (subject to 3% transaction fee), or direct internet/BACs payments.

Is VAT included in the price?

Some of our vehicles are zero rated, and some are chargeable at 20%. This detail will be itemised in your quotation.

Will I be charged for Congestion Zone or Tolls?

The quotation will itemise any additional costs such as congestion zone or road tolls/bridge fees if the journey is expected to travel in these areas. If the route changes on the day the charges will be added to the final bill.
